FUNG BROS PARTNERS WITH LEXUS IN CELEBRATION OF THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL/”CHUSEOK”

OCTOBER 11, 2022

Asian culture is known for having some of the most colorful and creative cultures in the world. One of the biggest holidays celebrated by Asians is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which happened on the 10th day of September 2022. This festival is celebrated to honor their ancestors and celebrate the harvest season. In celebration of the historical tradition, Fung Bros partnered up with Lexus to recognize the significance behind this festival and why it is so important not only to Asian cultures but also to a lot of other parts of the world as well.

In a video collaboration by Fung Bros. and H. Woo. Lee sponsored by Lexus, both creators shared how they traditionally celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival/Chuseok with their families. Showcasing food that is commonly prepared and shared during the festival. H Woo presented the delectable Korean dish songpyeon, which symbolizes the moon. Andrew and David Fung brought their own colorful and tasty moon cake treats in different flavors, such as green tea moon cake, Taiwanese moon cake, classic lotus seed moon cake, red bean moon cake, ice cream durian moon cake, and even moon cakes in the shape of a panda and a pig.

Known variously as the Moon Festival, or the Festival of Mooncakes, the Mid-Autumn Festival (Chinese: Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节) ) is a significant cultural event in China. Tsukimi in Japan, Chuseok in Korea, Tết Trung Thu in Vietnam, and many other East and Southeast Asian countries all celebrate festivals with similar meanings and traditions.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese harvest festival honoring the rice crop and other abundant fruits. Rituals are done both to show appreciation for the harvest and to ask for the light that makes the harvest possible the next year to come back.

Like Thanksgiving, it is also a time when families get together to celebrate. Dinner parties, moon worship, paper lanterns, moon cakes, and other treats are all part of the festivities.

Andrew and David expressed their appreciation to Lexus for making it possible for them to create and share the joyous celebration with their followers.
